The Blue Bottle

Searching for essence within my subjects and trying to paint intuitively and respond to the objects. For whatever reason, as I painted this still life set up, it felt important to introduce a cobalt blue in the bottle that seemed to be asserting itself. This blue also formed the shadow of the prone bottle leading the eye into or out of the painting.
